
State-run Ping An Leasing, a subsidiary of Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, announced it had signed a letter of intent for purchasing 50 COMAC C919 aircraft, the 168-seater aircraft, according to Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC).
The accord was signed on the first day of the 51st International Paris Air Show which began Monday and will last seven days.
In addition, Germany’s Puren Air also signed a letter of intent to purchase seven ARJ21-700 aircraft and seven C919 large aircraft, bringing the total number of pledges for China’s first large passenger jet under development to 507 .
It is understood that the first C919 aircraft for test flight is being assembled in Shanghai and is expected to roll off the production line this year.
