BEIJING, June 18 -- A delegation of the Chinese Defense Ministry press officials visited Japan on Tuesday and Wednesday, and exchanged views with their Japanese counterparts on white papers and press release.
Sources with the Chinese Defense Ministry told Xinhua on Thursday the visit was part of this year's defense exchange program between both countries.
The Chinese delegation briefed the Japanese side about the Chinese white paper, "China's Military Strategy" issued in May. The Japanese officials explained their white paper as well.
Both sides exchanged views on the formulation and contents of their respective white papers, and both believed such exchanges would help enhance understanding and address concerns, according to the Chinese Defense Ministry.
The Chinese delegation said the Chinese military strategy white paper has revealed China's open attitude on major strategy issues, urging Japan to introduce the Chinese armed forces in their white paper in a more truthful and objective manner, and stop playing up the so-called China Threat, said the Defense Ministry.
