In 2011, Li Yerui was selected as the representative Chinese soldier to study and train at a navy special operation school overseas. The school is famous for its cruelest trainings and 88.8 percent high dropout rate. Everyone who attends the school has to sign a release form, which says the person will take all the responsibility for whatever happens during the training. Even with harsh trainings like this, Li Yerui never gave up. He graduated with the highest score and even got hired as the first foreign instructor at that school.
After Li came back to China, he became a company commander in the Chinese military. He makes special plans for his soldiers. People all know he is very strict, but also considerate. Soldiers tend to listen to him and follow his lead. He brings the "never give up" spirit to the army, and the soldiers he trains always have excellent performances in drilling.
