BEIJING, Sept. 11 -- China is willing to communicate and coordinate with the EU and its member states on the migrant issue, said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hong Lei on Friday.
We have noticed the recent migrant issue as well as the measures relevant EU countries are taking, Hong said at a press briefing.
The European Commission announced on Thursday that the EU will deliver new aid to the tune of 17.5 million euros (19.7 million U.S. dollars) in support of Syrian refugees in Turkey.
Hong said it is the common aspiration of the international community to solve humanitarian crises, which should be tackled fundamentally by addressing the development and stability problems in certain regions.
The spokesperson said China believes the EU and other countries involved will jointly meet the challenge and maintain regional stability.
