
The wild duck lake natural reserve area was built in 1997 under the foot of Badaling Great Wall. It is the first and largest wetland natural reserve in Beijing with the most diverse species. In 10 years, the area of the wetland has grown larger, which attracts more and more birds to inhabit and reproduce.
There are 295 types of birds inhabiting in this area. 53 percent of them are national protected animals. (Xinhua/Li Xin)
