BEIJING, Dec. 8 -- Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao met with his Ecuadorian counterpart Jorge Glass on Monday.
This year marks the 35th anniversary of diplomatic ties, and the announcement earlier this year that the two nations would establish a strategic partnership marks a new chapter, Li said.
China is willing to work with Ecuador to implement the consensus of the two countries' leaders and build a common community of shared interests and destiny, Li said.
He said that the China-Latin American political parties' meeting, jointly hosted by the Communist Party of China and Ecuador's Movimiento Alianza Pais, will promote China-Ecuador ties and general cooperation between China and Latin America.
Glass, also vice president of Movimiento Alianza Pais, said the political parties' meeting will greatly boost exchanges between the political parties and expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
