
A transparent passenger submersible, named Huandao Jiaolong 1, was put into trial operation on Tuesday in Yalong Bay, Sanya, south China's Hainan province, according to a shipbuilding conglomerate in China.
The sightseeing submersible can dive 40 meters underwater and carry nine passengers. It is 7.9 meters in length, 3.6 meters in width, 4.4 meters in height and has a capability of 23.9 tons in hoisting weight. The submersible is equipped with a power supply system, buoyancy regulating system, life support system, air conditioner and advanced navigation control system.
