SHIJIAZHUANG, China, Dec. 24 -- A total of 66,000 local personnel will receive professional training to meet the need of co-hosting the 2022 Winter Olympics in Chongli, authorities said on Thursday.
"The 66,000 people, who are involved in all Winter Olympics-related work such as games management and marketing, will be trained by universities and professional institutes," said Liu Xiaoma, an official of Hebei provincial sports bureau.
Hebei Province will allocate about 50 million yuan (about 7.7 million US dollars) annually for the training program, according to Liu.
Chongli, a county some 200km northwest of Beijing, will host the cross-country, freestyle and other skiing events during the 2022 Winter Olympics.
