

On February 2, Wei Xing, Secretary of the Pu’er Municipal Party Committee paid a visit to Menglian Daizu Lahuzu Wazu Autonomous County (or Menglian County for short) and Ximeng Va Nationality Autonomous County (or Ximeng County for short). Mr. Wei Xing stressed that the local people should live and work in peace and contentment through the quickened construction of rural housing projects and the development of the featured industry, with substantial results in taking targeted measures in poverty alleviation and elimination.
In the Avocado Core Planting Demonstration Base, Mangxin Town, Menglian County, Mr. Wei Xing learned about the avocado planting management and marketing in detail from responsible persons of the business. After knowing that the project is under cooperation with a renowned company in Israel and has high scientific and technological content and favorable market prospect, he commended it as a helpful exploration and successful practice of the featured agriculture combining with the modern agriculture and wisdom agriculture in Yunnan plateau. He stressed that more poor peasants should get rid of poverty and become better off through the development of avocado industry under scientific planning and meticulous implementation.
Mr. Wei Xing and his delegation also made an on-the-spot checking on the town planning of Menglian County and the construction of Lancang-Meng’a Grade I Highway.
