A vegetable shop in Chengdu has been successfully running for two years in its own special way.
Every day, the owner Qiu places a blackboard by the door and some changes in the drawer, then he leaves the store unattended.
Customers who come to the shop have to do everything from picking, weighing, and paying by themselves. Surprisingly, this "help yourself" shop now has over 2,000 members; it never loses any money in the two years.
Mutual trust inspires good deeds. Customers of the shop sometimes serve as the "store owner" and help each other out. According to the owner of a shop across the street, he has never seen anyone trying to steal money or the goods from the shop.
