BUENOS AIRES, March 15 -- An Argentinean coastguard vessel fired on and sank a Chinese fishing boat, the coastguard said in a statement on Tuesday.
The incident happened Monday in the coastal waters of Chubut Province, with more than 30 crew members on board, said local media citing the statement.
No casualties were reported. The captain and three crew members were rescued by the coastguard vessel while the remaining were taken on board by another Chinese vessel.
Argentinean authorities are in touch with the Chinese embassy concerning the matter, according to the statement.
