
NANCHANG, March 23 -- At least one person was killed and another was trapped on Wednesday in a landslide on an expressway in east China's Jiangxi Province, local authorities said.
The landslide at the entrance of a tunnel was triggered by heavy rain around 10 a.m. on the Daqing-Guangzhou expressway in Longnan County.
A truck was buried by mud and rocks, leaving one dead and another trapped, according to the provincial transportation department.
Heavy rain has hit about 10 counties within Jiangxi as of 4 p.m. Tuesday. More than 2,000 people have been evacuated.
