Chinese navy frigate Daqing escorted a convoy of seven merchant ships which were sailing from the Gulf of Aden to Bab-el-Mandeb on April 9, 2016.
The merchant ships are from South Korea, Panama, Malta and China.
At 10:30 a.m. sailors on the Daqing found more than 20 suspicious ships to the left, which were approaching the convoy.
The Daqing upgraded the anti-piracy alert and dispatched a helicopter to do reconnaissance. At the same time, it sailed toward the suspicious ships to separate it from the convoy. Seeing the moves, the suspicious ships stopped approaching the convoy.
