Trees have turned green and flowers have bloomed in Xuanbi Great wall of Jianyuguan Pass, which attract visitors to enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Located 5 kilometers west of Jiayuguan city, northwestern China's Gansu province, Jiayuguan Pass is the western end of the Great Wall built in the Ming Dynasty (1368 – 1644). It was an important military fortress and also a vital traffic fort along the Silk Road, the world's oldest trading route, connecting China, Central Asia and Europe. It is called the first and greatest Pass in the world。
Xuanbi Great Wall is an important part of the defense network of Jiayuguan Pass, 8 kilometers away from the north of Jiayuguan city. The 15-kilometer-long wall was built in 1539 and 1540 during the Ming Dynasty to strengthen the defensive of the Jiayuguan area.
