A woman brought a cow to a neighborhood in the Chaoyang District of Beijing for a milking demonstration on April 16. Many residents of the neighborhood gathered to watch, and some even tried milking the cow themselves. Cartons of milk were being sold for eight yuan apiece, and the milk soon sold out.
Some residents thought it was a wonderful and interesting experience, especially for children to be able to learn about milk this way; some, on the other hand, were concerned about the bacteria present in unprocessed milk, and worried about negative social impact from the public stunt.
