South Korea: Song Joong Ki has been chosen to be the Honorary Ambassador for Korean Tourism
On April 1, South Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that actor Song Joong has been chosen as an Honorary Ambassador for South Korean Tourism and will be starring in Korean tourism advertisements. Because of his hit drama “Descendants of the Sun”, Song became a well-liked actor among the Chinese audience. Having him as the Honorary Ambassador is one of the customized measures the South Korean Tourism Bureau has taken on to attract Chinese tourists.
Italy: Chinese-style breakfast, green tea and instant noodles prepared
Reported by Oushinet.com, many hotels in Italy have currently altered their services to cater to Chinese tourists. For instance, hotels rooms will be equipped with electric kettles, at least four different types of green tea, instant noodles, and Chinese TV channels; there is a Chinese-style breakfast zone at the hotel; early breakfast time and customized dinner time from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Moreover, hotels in Italy also got reminded that since in China the number 4 is not lucky, they were suggested not to arrange Chinese tourists to stay in rooms on the fourth floor.
Thailand: “The most popular with Chinese tourists” award
The Ministry of Tourism & Sports in Thailand launched an awarding event regarding “what’s most popular with Chinese tourists” to promote the tourist industry in Thailand. Chinese tourists can vote on a website for their favorite hotels, restaurants, food, shopping places, attractions, airlines and so on. Tourists who participated have the opportunity to win free tours, fly tickets and souvenirs.
