Lin came from Shaoguan City of Guangdong. She became a teacher of a middle school in Shenzhen after graduation from college in 1988. In 1994, Lin went to work in a securities company and was sent to Shenzhen Stock Exchange as a trader. In her over 20 years' career in securities, Lin witnessed the development of China stock market in Shenzhen. When China established the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone in 1980, its population was less than 30,000. Forty years later, it has developed into the biggest immigrant city in China housing 13 million with its GDP hitting 2.69 trillion yuan (about 389.4 billion U.S. dollars). (Xinhua)
