BEIJING, Nov. 7 -- Chinese President Xi Jinping said Friday that China and Cambodia should continue and develop their precious traditional friendship to advance their relations and form a community of common destiny.
He made the remarks while meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen in Beijing,
China supports Prime Minister Hun Sen and the Cambodian People's Party to lead the country in following a development path in accordance with its national conditions, and China will continue to provide assistance for Cambodia's economic and social development, said the President.
Xi also expressed China's willingness to promote inter-Party exchanges and share experiences in state governance, and push forward cooperation in the fields of connectivity, agriculture, hydropower, special economic zone, education, medical services, telecommunications and tourism, and jointly advance the building of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.
Hun Sen said, Cambodia will, as always, support China's efforts to safeguard national sovereignty, security and territorial integrity, while expressing hopes that President Xi would pay a state visit to Cambodia at an early stage.
Cambodia will fully support China's hosting of the Dialogue on Strengthening Connectivity Partnership and the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, hoping to boost domestic infrastructure building and economic development through the building of the Belt and the Road, the prime minister added.
