
NANNING, Feb. 12-- Police are hunting for a man believed to have attacked nine villagers on Thursday in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, leaving one dead and eight injured.
The suspect, Ni, jumped into a river and escaped after stabbing the victims with a kitchen knife around 11 a.m. at in Changzhou Township in the city of Wuzhou, said a spokesman with Wuzhou publicity department.
The injured were taken to hospital. It is unknown if their injuries are life threatening or not.
The motive of the suspect is being investigated.
