A young man of Nongyong Village returning to his hometown with a car has to park his car at the foot of a hill as no road accessible to Nongyong Village in Dahua Yao Autonomous County, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Feb. 13, 2015. Nongyong Village, an isolated village in western part of Guangxi region, has been mired in poverty for decades. Short of water and arid land had made villagers as poor as a church-mouse. Though villagers' life changed a lot since 1990s thanks to national aid and villagers' efforts, poverty is still hovering the village. The annual income per capita of the villagers was only 1,950 yuan (314.5 US dollars) last year and there is no roads accessible to 11 village groups. Guangxi region, which has 5.38 million population suffering from impoverishment, is making efforts to help them get rid of poverty before 2020. (Xinhua/Huang Xiaobang)
