
GUANGZHOU, July 27 -- Five people were killed after they were trapped in an apartment building blaze in south China's Guangdong Province Monday morning, according to authorities.
Local firefighters were alerted at around 5:35 a.m. that a fire had engulfed around 100 sq meters of a three-story apartment in Sanxiang Township of Zhongshan City.
Five people rescued from the building later died in the hospital. The fire has been put out.
