BEIJING, Aug. 27 -- Two Chinese officials in north China's Shanxi Province are being investigated separately by prosecutors, the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) announced Thursday.
Kang Youquan, Party secretary of the provincial geology exploration bureau, and Li Chengxian, general engineer of the provincial land and resources department, are suspected of abusing their power. Kang is also suspected of dereliction of duty.
The two have been placed under "coercive measures," which include summons by force, bail, residential surveillance, detention and arrest.
