
Friendship Harbor
Mauritania
The Friendship Harbor in Nouakchott, the capital of northeast Africa's Mauritania, is one of China's largest aiding projects in Africa. The harbor was built at the cost of 340 million yuan (some $35 million) by China Road &Bridge Corporation during 1979-1986. It has a berthing throughput of 1.5 million dwt, and is fully equipped with facilities such as bulwarks, repairing workshops and warehouses.
