Hu Yuefang lives in Xiushui county in eastern China's Jiangxi province. To every one's surprise, the one-meter-tall tiny girl is already 15. Yuefang has lived with her grandpa and the younger brother since 2004 when her father died of illness. Her mother also abandoned them after forming a new family.
As the time goes, her grandfather found that like Thumbelina in the fairy tale, Yuefang stopped growing. Because of the poor family condition, Hu didn't take Yuefang to see the doctor. He took the responsibility to take care of her alone.
Now at the age of 15, Yuefang still cannot speak and walk. "Grandpa" is the only word she can speak out clearly.
To take care of the grandchildren, Hu can't go out to work. The family live on foods that Hu grows in the field and a 600 yuan monthly subvention from the local government.
