
Recently Shenzhen customs tracked down smugglers of cosmetic hyaluronic acid and whitening injections worth 150 million yuan. 5 groups of 24 suspects have been arrested.
After finding several cases of tourists smuggling cosmetic injections, Shenzhen customs started to collect evidences. After two months, customs found a woman named Fu and her husband, who is a citizen of Hong Kong, who often crossed the border with cosmetic injections. According to the investigation there are 5 groups of 24 people who got arrested and a great deal of LipoMed and LipoDermis hyaluronic acid and whitening injections was seized.
The smugglers first purchased cosmetic injections at a price range from 600 to 1,200 yuan. Through several groups of people who were able to make multiple entries, these smuggled injections got transferred to the mainland; selling for at least 2,000 yuan each to clients in Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Sichuan, Guangdong, Henan etc.
A cosmetic clinic in Guangdong province purchased many of the smuggled injections. According to suspects the price they bought for injections was 650 yuan each and the lowest price they sold for was 3,000 yuan.
