
The state-of-the-art 4.5 thousand tonne marine research vessel "Xiangyanghong 03" has come into service, and is now listed as one of the national marine research vessels based in Xiamen City, southeast China's Fujian Province on March 26, 2016.The Xiangyanghong 03 is 99.6 meters long, 17.8 meters wide and 8.9 meters high, with a draught of 5.6 meters, and a loading capacity of 80 people. The vessel can last for 60 days at sea, travelling 15 thousand nautical miles. It is a multi-functional, multi-disciplinary and multi-technique modernized comprehensive marine vessel, designed to carry out deep sea observation, exploration, sampling and analysis, and will serve as a mobile lab for scientific research in deep sea and oceanic areas.
