

On Aug.9, Pu’er city carried out a publicity campaign named “The World Elephant Day”, an opening ceremony for starting the construction of the Asian Elephant Food Park Base.
The planned area of the Base in the Simao District, Pu’er City is more than 40000 mu. Based on the plan, the project includes growing 3000 mu of plants that Asian elephants like to eat, building 30 km roads, lookout sites, feeding sites, management and protection sites, protection facilities etc. The project investment is 10 million RMB and expected to be completed in August of 2023.
