The dog days in Guangxi is the time for summer harvest of corns for Lan Yufa’s family.

Lan Yufa, 50, is a farmer in Nongyong village, Bansheng country, Guangxi. The summer harvest of 0.2 hectare of corns every year often takes Lan and his wife over half a month to reap. Lan Yufa says jokingly: “What we are reaping are corns and in such hot weather, we ourselves will become pop corns soon.”
