Lin Xi is the pen name of renowned Hong Kong lyricist Albert Leung Wei Man. Born in July 1961 in Hong Kong, Leung graduated from the School of Chinese Literature at the University of Hong Kong in 1984.
Since 1985, Leung started his songwriting career with the pen name Lin Xi. He has written over 2,500 song lyrics, most of them for Faye Wong, Leslie Cheung, Andy Lau, Jay Chou and other super stars in the Chinese pop music industry, which made him one of the most outstanding lyricists in China.
Although Leung has never publicly acknowledged his sexual orientation, he once stated to his friend Johnnie To in an interview that "He could be a woman." It also said that Leung and Anthony Wong had a close relationship before, and the latter publicly came out as gay in 2012.
