The project is a joint venture between the Walt Disney Company and Shanghai Shendi Group. Disney holds a 43 percent stake in the project, while the remaining 57 percent is held by Shanghai Shendi.
The theme park will feature Disney's tallest castle to date, two hotels, a pirate-themed park, shopping, dining and entertainment areas and a 40-hectare "Wishing Star Park" with natural scenery.
