On the night of April 10, 2016, the curtain went up on the 2016 China Ximeng Wa People Wood Drum Festival with a great many celebratory activities.
This year's festival lasted for 3 days, involving a series of colorful cultural activities related to the Wa people, including the Wa Tribe-a pristine song and dance show; a bonfire party; an Aiheimuha (meaning "new water") show; a religious ceremony to pay homage to the Longmo god; a rice pounding competition; the Ximeng leg of the Green Triangle Music Festival; a commodity sales promotion; and gatherings where people tasted all sorts of delicious foods, which pushed the festival to reach its climax.
