On April 14, 2016, the 28th Annual Exposition of the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) kicked off in Atlanta, Georgia. The top 6 contestants in the first Yunnan Coffee Bean Contest, 4 of which came from Pu'er coffee, participated in the exposition with their award-winning coffee beans, along with some other coffee businesses from Pu'er part.
Pu'er's coffee won the instant fame, though it was its debut at the SCAA event. In fact, a steady stream of visitors came to the stand for Pu'er's coffee, lavishing praise on the coffee after tasting it. Some visitors immediately expressed their intents to make purchases, while some others even placed orders with some participating businesses on the spot. The specimens brought to the exposition by the participating businesses were also carried away by visitors with great enthusiasm.
On the afternoon of April 16, 2016, the exposition center organized a special party for Yunnan's premium coffee products, so anybody who came might taste them first-hand, and these products were well received by every partygoer.
