
Dicaoyuan Earthen Fortress
Dicaoyuan Earthen Fortress has a history of about 200 years. Located in Sanyuan District of Sanming, the fortress has five wings and 50 rooms, all sloping upward with the terrain.
The fort was constructed with sediment and gravel. Watchtowers and watch windows are set into the 4-meter-high earthen walls. The main gate is made of wood, and there are storage areas and wells inside the building. It can accommodate 300 people.
