
Tancheng Fortress
Located in Datian County, Tancheng Fortress is one of only a few round fortresses in the city of Sanming. It was built during Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. With a 10-meter-thick wall, Tancheng Fortress is 12 meters high and 65 meters around. A circular gallery is built into the inner wall of the single-story building. There is a watch window and several shooting holes to fend offenemies.
